Andros Island is the largest and least explored island in the Bahamas.  This 2300 mile island paradise is not only known as the bone fishing capital of the world, but also boasts the second largest reef in the Northern Hemisphere and is home to the oldest dive resort on the planet.

The diverse topography which rises from these tropical waters is full of life, some of which can only be found on Andros.  Over forty kinds of wild orchids, rare endemic birds, wild boar, iguanas as long as four feet and a recently discovered tribal group all make their homes among the miles of deserted beaches.

Sharing this magical island are the locals, or Androsians.  These peaceful people pride themselves as skilled artists and craftsman whose origins are believed to date back to the Seminole Indians, runaway slaves from Florida and an ethnic mix of different people to South America.

You will be greeted at the Congo Town Airport by one of our staff members who will orient you to the area and the lodge.  They will get you settled into your room and converse with you about your trip.  That evening you will be greeted by the guides who will set up your fishing specifics.  Anything that you might need while you are there will be quickly attended to by any of our staff.  They are eager to help and want to make sure you have a memorable trip!

Your fishing day will begin with a hearty breakfast, made to order.  Your guide will meet you at the marina and you will embark to your destination on well maintained and equipped flats boats.  The guides are all local and are very experienced with the area and fishery.  They are friendly, helpful and eager to see that you have a fun and productive day of fishing.

Your fishing will consist of wade and boat fishing.  The flats are quite vast, with plenty of different areas to explore.  The main catch are bonefish that reside in the area.  The average size is about 5 to 7 pounds, with ample opportunity to catch larger bonefish!  These fish do not see much fishing pressure, they are hungry and aggressive and sure to give you a memorable fight.  Permit, Snapper, Jacks and Barracuda also inhabit the area and can be an added challenge.  You will enjoy fishing some of the extensive flats that create the fishing environment around Andros Island.  The flats are beautiful white sand with some turtle grass, where you will find opportunities to both wade the firmer flats and fish from the boat on some of the softer flats.

The guides provide lunch for you on the boat, it consists of a variety of deli meats, fruit, etc.  You will have plenty to eat and drink and if you need anything special, the guides will do their best to provide this for you.  When you return to the lodge after a days fishing, you might want to take a stroll on the beach, go for a swim, relax at the bar reminiscing about your days fishing or just relax in your air conditioned room before dinner. which our Chef prepares with local island ingredients!
