The ExperienceLOCATED IN ISLA GRANDE, TIERRA DEL FUEGO
In the center of the province of Tierra del Fuego, just 27 km from the city of Tolhuin and 80 km south of the city of Río Grande, is Domos de la Estancia Lodge, a prime location immersed in the southernmost Patagonia of Argentina. DetailsThe surrounding natural environment where we fish is made up of diverse rivers, lakes, and spring creeks such as the Yakush, Che- pelmut, Yehuin, Río Indio, Río Claro, Río Grande and Río Menéndez, among others. Lake Yakush, Che- pelmut and Yehuin are home to a large population of Fontinalis and Brown Trout from 1 to 4 kg, while the Claro River, reached after an attractive quad ride, whose cloudier and emerald colored water, houses trout that come up from Lake Fagnano or Kami, in some cases reaching 5 kg in weight, with their irides- cent silver of incredible beauty. Near this same river, we also find spring creeks dammed by beavers that deliver a catch that surprises more than one fisher with trout from 2 to 3 kg, a catch that is very technical due to the number of obstacles found in the water. And finally, we have the Pesca del Río Grande or Río Menéndez, which houses the large Sea-Run Brown Trout with sizes up to 14 kg and averaging 6 to 7 kg. This is an anadromous trout that swims up the river from the sea to carry out its reproductive cycle. They deliver great resis- tance in battle, offering a show that is hard to find in other parts of the globe.
