Rio Manso Lodge Nestled deep within the towering Andes Mountains and surrounded by the breathtaking Nahuel Huapi National Park lies Rio Manso Lodge, a picturesque fly fishing haven in Argentina. The snow-capped peaks and lush forests provide a stunning backdrop to the sparkling lakes and rivers that envelope the lodge. Located just an hour south of Bariloche Airport, Rio Manso Lodge is undoubtedly the premier destination for fly fishing in this region.
Long before its establishment, our skilled Patagonia fly fishing guides were already leading anglers through these waters and hosting them at Hosteria Hess, the predecessor of Rio Manso Lodge. Fortunately, in 2004, Hosteria Hess was transformed into the luxurious and unique Rio Manso Lodge that stands today. Each of our 9 guest rooms at Rio Manso Lodge is thoughtfully designed to offer unrivaled views of Lago Hess and the majestic Andes Mountains, with all facing northwest for optimal scenery. Cuisine The aroma of sizzling meat filled the air as guests gathered around the traditional Argentine grill. The display of succulent meats, including beef, lamb, and pork, was a testament to the country's rich culinary traditions. An Argentine asado is more than just a meal - it is an experience led by the skilled asador (cook). The first course typically includes chorizos (sausages), morcillas (black pudding), chinchulines (chitterlings), and mollejas (sweetbread) that are perfectly grilled over an open flame. As if that wasn't enough, provoleta, a mouth-watering grilled cheese dish, is also served. Next, ribs or asado de tira are presented before giving way to vacío or matambre (flank steak). And for those looking to try something more exotic, there may even be chicken and chivito (baby goat) on offer. But it's not just about the meat - an asado feast also includes freshly baked bread and a refreshing mixed salad of lettuce, tomato, and onions. And to add some color to the plate, verdurajo, a medley of grilled vegetables seasoned with olive oil and salt, can also be enjoyed. With every bite, guests are transported into a world of flavors and textures, making their stay at Rio Manso Lodge truly unforgettable.
